Just an update

So how has everyone been? I havent updated for a bit, sorry. I have now gone through a bit of training at McDonalds. Oh how fun! I get my first ever paycheck this friday I cant wait! My first paycheck is most likely going to my California trip coming up in April. Next pay will be toward an Itouch so I can facetime chat with Stephen. I cant wait for that. And then Im going to save up for a car!!!!!! I have one picked now its just making sure I can still get it before someone else does. The one I want is a Voltswagon Bettle and its GREEN!!!!! Its used (year 2000), a standard and runs on diesle fuel. Tell me what you all think, I would say it sounds like a great deal :) but I want to know everyone's thoughts.
Working at Mcdonalds doesnt seam as bad as I was expecting. They accidently only gave me two days this week though. Both days I work from 3-10. Thats a big difference from my 2-6 days last week. I cant wait to work on cash register or in the drive through. I want to be with the costomers not the food ya know. I at least am starting to get the hang of everything in back. I love that I can get sweet tea for free, its so yummy.
As far as everything else, nothing is really new. Lilith got a jumper that keeps her amused for a little while longer. She likes trying to eat all the toys on it, I think she is teething. As well as she picked up random screaming squeals. My brother in law Mish got the job he wanted for the air force and his new ship out date for training. Other than that, nothing. Well thats really it for now.

McDonald's

I was called the other morning (one of the few important missed calls I had missed) from McDonald's telling me that they were having interviews today (Thursday) at 10am. If I was interested then to show up. OK, so obviously it wasn't going to be just me. I wanted the job but I wasn't really worried if I got it or not. Yes, I need the money but I don't really have the transportation and I don't want to have to deal with that headache.
Wednesday I wasn't thinking much about it until around midnight and decided to look for something nice to wear. I have nothing. So after a while of annoyed searching I gave up and picked out a nice button up, jeans, and my vans. Its only McDonald's. Trying to fall asleep was a fail. I was too awake to go to bed and then after falling asleep it was too hot to stay asleep. I got a few good hours in though so it wasn't too bad.
My alarm went off on time, I got up and fell back asleep. Luckily for only a few minutes. I got ready and everything was going well time wise. Of course things happen and I end up leaving later than I had wanted. I walked in about two minutes before 10. The woman interview was had to miss so I sat at the first empty table I saw. She finished the interview that was going on when I walked in and asked who was next. There were a few people before me so I waited and ended up interviewing last. Hey works for me, I could hear all the questions and everyone's answers. Finally she got to me and I was the only one to shake her hand. Basic questions and small conversations for some. At the end of the interview she told me that because I was the last interview of the day she was ready to offer me the job right there.
I have orientation on Monday, and my first day is Tuesday. Now its finding my way to work until I save up for a car.
Its nice to finally have a real job and its pretty sad to say that this is my first one.

Massage school.

OK, so I think I'm done telling you all about the past lol.
This morning I was woke up to a call from Georgia. I wasn't expecting it but I figured that after missing a few important calls just because I didn't save a few numbers I decieded to actually answer. I was also expecting a call from a school in Georgia, only the call was supposed to be a different area code. Its really good I answered because go figure it was the school. http://www.atlantaschoolofmassage.com/default.asp, Ive been looking into two schools. I wanted to talk with the Atlanta School of Massage because their site didn't tell me any listings of prices as well as I am a little confused on how the state of Georgia does their massage and cosmetlogy requirements. I talked with the woman for about 5 and a half minutes. She really knew how to sell the school. I'm sure It helped that I was still half asleep. She told me the price (14,???) I cant remember the last 3 digits. But the price included everything as far as books, course, and my supplies, all provided there I might add. They prep you for the test to become licenced in massage.
Now as far as the other school goes http://www.ashamassagecom/ ASHA is priced slightly higher (15,000) and they also sound really good. They have an advantage to the other school for me though, location. If I go to that school and have a cancelled class or something and its around Steve's lunch time we can have a lunch date :) I spent 21 minutes on the phone with ASHA I learned a good amount about them. Sounds like a good school.
I'm not sure yet on what one I prefer. Next time I get to visit Georgia I plan on taking a tour of the two schools. I still have months to decide so if anyone has any thoughts or what not please feel free to comment :)

Mrs. Kroger and School

Well Im excited! I got an email from Mrs. Kroger, my cosmetology teacher today it said,
"Kayci,

What are you doing now!"

It was in a reply from an email I sent in September and a missed call of mine from few weeks ago and she was in a meeting or had just left the school. Either way, yay success, contact again to someone who will significantly help me in getting a massage school picked out. As well as figuring out what to do with my current and unused cosmetology licence.
Krog has helped me so much! She has been there for me for all of my career, school, and even personal needs. She was the one to inspire me to become more outgoing and to go for what I wanted. Because of her I joined Skills USA http://www.skillsusa.org/ junior and senior year. I was the only junior officer and senior year I was vice president. I also joined ambassador club those two years, it was more or so a way to advertise our school to future students and we gave them tours of the building and the many different classed they offered. http://www.greatoaks.com/ There was also the advocate program. The advocate program was new that year and they set up an "IT" team. The IT team had many applicants and picked only 5 or so students. I was one of them!!!! I was ecstatic to have made it! That program was also something to help advertise our school but this was the program involved with the media attention. Oh, I forgot to mention that junior year I was involved in our schools MCJROTC (Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) , even though I cant stand the military I mostly signed up for the workout. Lets just say by the end of senior year I had gained plenty of power, gotten to know many people, and most of all lost a major amount of nerves. Mostly thanks to Mrs. Kroger!
I cant wait to hear back from her so I can look further into school and maybe even get to teach a class on healing massage to her current students.

P.S. I hate the rain today, I was so happy to see it was a nice warm day out when I got the mail but shortly after playing the Sims 3 for a little while it started to rain. : (

2010-present

Apologies on the lenght.
On January 1, 2010 I was on winter break from school. I was visiting my sister, Christina, and her dad (I consider him mine as well even if its not biological). Well that night our friends were having a party we were invited to. Friends of ours (Steve, Chris, and their Grandma) from Georgia were in town for the holidays and we couldn't pass up a chance to see them. The night was a blast! I played bass for the first time. I was told that I didn't too bad for my first time. Yay an interest that I don't suck at from the start lol! Also Stephen became my Pussy buddy that night. But one of the biggest impacts on how the year has turned out is meeting Mish. Not long after that night him and Christina started dating. They got pregnant, engaged, and married. I was the maid of honor in their wedding on July 17, 2010, and got to be in the room for the birth of my beautiful niece Lilith on November 10, 2010.
On June 4, 2010 was the night of my High School Graduation! That picture to the right is a picture of my sister and me on my graduation day. She is the one in the black dress, white dresses were required for the girls graduating. It was the last time Ive seen quite a few of my friends. I moved that night, it was semi unexpected.I started traveling a bit more since I moved out of my Aunt and Uncles house. I have gone to 2 states that Ive never been too before now (Michigan, and Georgia) and a few that Ive gone to before. In April I'm going to California.
I went on Vacation to North Carolina with my friend (as close as a sister) Jenn and her family. Jenn, her daughter Adriana, and I left at about 2 or so am on September 4, 2010. We drove for hours! The main reason I mention this as a day of importance was because this was where Steve and I started talking constantly. During vacation we were basically inseparable and have never missed a night of talking in some way since.
On December 24, 2010 Steve asked me to be his girlfriend :) I said yes with no hesitation! Its the best relationship Ive been in and I'm super happy about it all. The only downside to our relationship is the distance but its not something that I cant deal with obviously.
On January 19, 2011 I got to fly to Georgia to see Steve, it was my first trip to Georgia and I know it wont be my last. I think that's all for now. Ive caught you up on the things that are important to me.

First post!

Well this is my first real blog and Im really excited for it. My name is Kayci, im currently looking into schools for massage. I recently graduated from a vocational school and became licenced in Cosmetlogy. I learned how IMPOSIBLE it is to get a job in your field when your living in a place where you don't know directions of places too well (I moved in with my sister the day I graduated), have no car to get around, and most places for you to go are at least 15 minutes away. It makes me miss the city. A warning for the readers of this blog- I have A.D.D./A.D.H.D. so my focus is very off and I tend to have a hard time keeping subjects together. http://www.webmd.com/add-adhd/default.htm My blog posts will be basically what ever comes to mind. I also say LOL constantly and can never seam to help it.
Well I think thats all for now. Expect to hear more soon. Please feel free to comment :) I would love to hear from you.
